‘Hometime’ is a short film drama

Directed by Jonathan Lambert and Written by Joe McGucken

Hometime follows a young boy on his 10th birthday as he waits for his mother to take him home from a pub, an evening that leaves a lasting impact on him. Starring Lauren Larkin (Deadly Cuts) and Cole Murray in his debut role.

The film has screened at 18 festivals globally, winner of Best International Short at BIFA qualifying OXIFF, winner of the Rising Star Award at Ealing Film Festival and has been nominated for Best Irish Film at the Fastnet Film Festival 2025, an Emerging Director Award in 2025, and a Kinsale Shark Award. Since its festival debut last October, it has also received coverage in the Irish Times, Independent.ie, JOE.ie, and Film in Dublin.

The project was entirely self-funded by its filmmakers, Jonathan Lambert and Joe McGucken, alongside producer Shane Mulrennan, with Katriona O’Sullivan, author of the award-winning book Poor, joining to support post-production.
